In partnership with Microsoft, I led the design and development with my team of the Kano PC, an all in one, two-in-one build it yourself Windows 10 computer and tablet. Designed for both school and domestic use, the PC represents a step forward for the company in terms of complexity and aesthetics and a new way for the two companies to position themselves in the education space. Designed in both 10.1” and 11.6” variants, the PC features modular components which are assembled and can be easily replaced by the user, and a graphically designed computer board, which guides users through its parts and their purpose. A magnetic folding keyboard sleeve with a unique reverse kickstand design allows the computer’s brain the be seen even when in use, and take the form of a hardback book when stored.
